We Invest in Global Leaders with Asian Perspectives

Today’s complex world demands leaders who are well-versed in global affairs and have experience in, knowledge of, and connections to Asia

Mission and Vision

In this fractured world, there is a tremendous need and a huge opportunity to bring people together.

More than 50% of the world’s population lives in Asia and in a decade, Asia’s economy will be more than a 1/3 of the global economy. It has become increasingly clear that Asia offers some of the most globally adaptable solutions and innovative ideas.

Women - with additional support - drive prosperity and re-invest in their community and the next generation.

We aspire to build from the ground up a community focusing on global leadership with Asian perspectives.

We aim to build a new kind of organization that is nimble, efficient, impactful, and global from day one.

Announcing Our 2024 Fellows

Global Women Asia (GWA) is pleased to announce the 2024 class of Women in STEM Fellows! Building on the success of the Global Women Asia in Sustainability Fellowship in 2023 (supported by ABAC USA 2023), this year’s 16 fellows come from 16 major locales throughout East Asia, Southeast Asia, Central and South Asia, the Middle East, the UK, and the US. They are policymakers, entrepreneurs, philanthropic professionals, university faculty, management and investment strategists, as well as engineers and data scientists.

These female leaders will meet in November in the San Francisco Bay area for a leadership program, through which they will have peer-to-peer learning opportunities, hone their communication and decision-making skills, and visit Silicon Valley innovators, incubators, and investors. They will also share perspectives from around the world on some of the most pressing issues, such as AI, ethics and regulations, gender equity in STEM fields, as well as geopolitics and technology competition.

GWA is grateful to this year’s Panel of Judges, Huma Hamid, Erika Louie, Karen Raghavan, and Pratima Rao Gluckman, as well as GWA 2023 fellows for this year’s fellow selection. GWA appreciates the partnership with the International Strategy Forum (ISF), especially Kyle Johnson, for helping nominate fellows. (Andrea Phua, Van Tran, Kimberly Yao, and Assel Zhanassova are ISF fellows)

GWA would also like to express gratitude to Ker Gibbs for advising and facilitating key partnerships in the upcoming 2024 leadership program.

Our Work

We are building a community of global women leaders and their allies through two initiatives. The GWA Fellowship program brings together a cohort of next-generation female leaders who have demonstrated the passion and will to solve global complex challenges. Our Global Community Initiative is achieved through local chapters and global events - all aimed at amplifying and highlighting the deep knowledge of Asia and the global experience of our members.
